An ordained minister, he serves as pastor of First Baptist Church of Nevada City and maintains an extensive Internet Bible study and Christian writing ministry.
He plays the guitar and autoharp and sings, and admires bluegrass and Celtic fiddlers. He tries to play disc golf once or twice a week. When there's time he enjoys woodworking, reading Civil War history, and walking in the woods. Dr. Wilson holds three earned academic degrees and lives with his wife on ten acres he calls "Wildwood" in Loomis, California, about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.
